Everything here is my own work and my own opinion, written in my own time. It is not issued by, endorsed by, reviewed by, or connected to HOK, where I am a principal and senior project designer. Nothing on this site should be read as representing the firm, its practices, or its clients.

The practice resources do not describe, quote, or draw on any firm's internal policy or procedure. Where a document contains a worked example, the example is invented. No vendor is named anywhere on this site and none was consulted.

The projects listed under Built Work were designed with HOK, by teams. What is described there is my own contribution and my own reading of what each one taught me, not the firm's position on any of it.

I am an architect, not a lawyer. The Studio Policy Starter and the Delivery-Method Notes touch obligations you already carry, and they are a starting point for a conversation with your own counsel and your own insurer rather than a substitute for either.

Contract terms, professional liability policies, and jurisdictional rules all vary, and any of them can override what I have written. The delivery notes deliberately name no contract document or clause, because the families vary by country and the editions change.

I used AI tools in building and editing this site. That seems worth stating plainly given what the rest of it argues, and the positions, along with the responsibility for them, are mine.

Built with Next.js and deployed on Vercel. Type is Newsreader for display and essay body, Inter for interface, IBM Plex Mono for labels, all self-hosted so no request leaves your browser to load them. Analytics are cookieless and record page views and referrers, with no cross-site tracking and no advertising identifiers.

Every text and background pairing is checked against WCAG 2.1 AA. The lowest contrast ratio in use is 4.56 to 1.

There is no artwork anywhere on this site, deliberately. Reproducing living artists' and estates' work without a license is a rights problem, and a photograph of a Turrell is a poor substitute for the encounter, which is the argument the site is making. Outbound links to foundations and estates instead.

Project photography is a separate question and a fair criticism. Architectural photography is licensed rather than free, and firm images are not mine to publish. Where that changes, images will appear here with their credits.

A site that says a position worth holding is one you will revise should show the revisions. Anything I get wrong and then fix is listed here, dated, rather than quietly corrected.
